Dispatch from the Turkey Creek Writers’ Retreat

I’ve been on a little writers’ retreat with my fellow writer CA Morgan. My folks have a second home in Palm Bay, on the east coast of Florida and we try to get over there for a bit of fun and writing. Thursday was our adventure day. We went to historic St. Augustine and sailed on the schooner Freedom.

We’ve also been having wonderful dinners made with DeCio flavored handmade pastas. And the fuel for our gatherings is our signature sangria. See the recipe below.

I’ve gotten some work in too! It’s not all fun and adult beverages. I finished the first round of edits on the short story “Night on Blood Isle,” a companion story to “Return to Cooter Crossing” and need to find a beta reader or two. I hope to spend the rest of the time working on “Of Paradise and Purgatory.”

Where ever you are, I hope you are having a wonderful fall.
